Do’s and Don’ts of remodeling:

Do: Select the right surfaces - the significance of the materials used in your custom bathroom go beyond aesthetics; your surfaces need to be able to withstand not only prolonged exposure to water and humidity but quality materials that can withstand the test of time without cracking, warping, expanding and contracting or growing mold should only be considered. This isn't an area that anyone wants to remodel multiple times due to cheap material deterioration. We can help guide you throughout your decision making process.

Don’t: Rush the process - though it would be nice to have everything done in a day, quality work takes time and each remodel is a little different. A full bathroom remodel is a process where tasks need to be accomplished in a particular order. It can take several weeks to complete the process. The best way to mitigate delays is by enlisting an experienced professional to plan and execute the project.

Do: Communicate with your contractor - Consider looking at online sites like Pinterest or Houzz, or even taking pics of a friend's house to get some ideas of what you like, then show some of those ideas to your contractor. It's important that you can communicate exactly what you want and need to your contractor before the project starts, because the contractor needs to keep that finished project in mind throughout the entire process. No one wants to end up with something different than what they imagined.

Don’t: Skimp when it comes to skilled labor - while it may be tempting to cut costs with a low-bidding "contractor" or even a DIY approach, there are many aspects to a kitchen or bath remodel and mistakes can be easy to make. One needs to be experienced in many different skills including plumbing, electrical, load-bearing structural integrity, framing, flooring and waterproofing techniques to name just a few.  Having the project done right the first time around will help you avoid costly water damage repairs and redo's in the future.
