Do I Need A Permit?

Permit requirements vary by your geographical location and are governed by National standards, by state, county and even your city. Depending on your project, a permit could be required in your area. We will consult with your local permit office before any work begins. Permits can be provided to either the Contractor or the homeowner. Please keep in mind though that additional fees to obtain a permit and any periodic inspection fees by the inspector may apply.

What Is Your Typical Process For Working With A Customer?

Sometimes larger projects can be complex and require good communication between the homeowner and the contractor. We want this process to flow as smoothly as possible for our customers. We will always work closely with you every step of the way to make sure you are informed on what is being done, what you can expect and when. Afterall, we take pride in what we do and happy customers are our goal. All you need to do is give us a call so we can set a date to come look at your project and collect the information we need to provide you with an estimate. The estimate will be a close approximation of the labor fee as well as any materials that we require to complete the project. In addition, any other fees like trash bin rentals, permit fees or disposal fees, if applicable, will be included also. Each estimate will also include lined items that spell out exactly what we will be doing over the course of the project (usually in chronological order) so that the customer knows what to expect and when.

Are There Things That I Need To Do Before Remodeling My Home?

No two remodeling projects are exactly the same, so to achieve the end product that you want, good communication with your contractor is key. Keep in mind that there are some things that the contractor just can't decide for you. For instance, only the customer knows what styles and colors they like. To keep your project flowing smoothly, take some time looking at the tile you want, the cabinets or vanity styles, flooring styles, faucets and trim kits for your shower and of course, the pricing of each before planning a start date for your project. Then communicate all of this with your contractor so we can assess if these items can be used. Depending on the situation, some items may not fit in your space correctly. Some may require the purchase of additional or special fittings and valves or some may require additional labor to alter the space in order to use them. Unfortunately, a lot of items found online are made in other countries like China and are just not compatible with our plumbing and electrical standards here in the U.S. It always pays to be prepared so you don't run into any surprises down the line. Rest assured though, we will be here to work with you and answer any questions you may have.

What Can I Do To Improve The Value Of My Home?

Since your home is an asset, investing in renovations and upgrades will have a positive impact on the value of your home. Investing in the right places can maximize your return when it's time to sell. The most agreed upon interior room improvements are Kitchens and bathrooms. Every homebuyer is going to be more attracted to a house with nice bathrooms and a functional kitchen. Not only does it make the house more appealing but they know that these are areas that they won't need to spend more money and time on after they move in. The kitchen is the heart of the home afterall and the one room where families are most likely to spend the largest amount of their time together. It just makes sense to ensure that it feels warm and inviting not only to you, but anyone that may be looking to buy your home as well. Getting rid of those popcorn ceilings and covering years of wear with a fresh coat of paint goes a long way to enhancing the look and appeal of a home. Replacing outdated lighting and adding flush mount LED's can instantly give rooms a more modern look. Replacing old flooring with newer scratch and water resistant vinyl plank can transform the entire house for the better. People these days like to see more open floor plans and larger rooms. Maybe removing a wall to open a space is what you need. Sometimes a wall can be removed between two smaller rooms to make one large room for entertaining or even a larger master suite or bathroom. On the outside, replacing any water damage and siding would have to be high priority as would closing up any intrusion areas where not only water but small varmints like mice/rats, snakes, squirrels and insects can get under the house, inside the walls or into the attic from above the roof line. If the exterior isn't sealed up tight, damage to the interior structure is inevitable. Other options to consider might be new windows, landscaping, gutter replacement and deck repair. A good looking and solid deck is always a positive. Whatever your needs are, Entech is here to help with your remodels and repairs.
